Flyora OET Services
1
Purpose
The OET (Occupational English Test) is designed specifically for healthcare professionals, including doctors, nurses, dentists, pharmacists, and others who want to work or study in English-speaking countries. The test evaluates practical English communication in medical settings, ensuring candidates can effectively interact with patients, colleagues, and institutions.
2
Exam Format
The test takes about 3 hours, with an additional 20-minute speaking section:
Listening (45 mins): Understand patient consultations, health talks, and medical lectures.
Reading (60 mins): Extract key information from healthcare texts, case notes, and journal articles.
Writing (45 mins): Write letters such as referrals, transfers, or discharge notes relevant to your profession.
Speaking (20 mins): Role-plays between the candidate and an interlocutor acting as a patient or carer.
3
Profession-Specific Focus
Unlike IELTS or PTE, OET uses healthcare-related scenarios tailored to each profession. Tasks include writing referral letters, interpreting patient consultations, and reading medical journals. Flyora ensures candidates practice using realistic healthcare materials, preparing them for professional communication in clinical environments.
4
Scoring
Each sub-test is scored from 0–500. Most institutions require 350+ in each skill (equivalent to IELTS 7.0). Flyora provides detailed guidance on target scores, strategies for improving weak areas, and practice to achieve consistent results.
5
Test Mode
OET is available in paper-based, computer-based, and at-home OET@Home options. Flyora helps candidates choose the most suitable mode, familiarize themselves with the testing environment, and practice effectively under simulated conditions.
6
Results & Validity
Results are usually released in approximately 16 business days, and scores are typically valid for 2 years (may vary by institution or regulatory body). Flyora ensures candidates understand how to use their results for professional registration, employment, or study abroad applications.
